How to handle the inability to give oneself life? What if someone has money, but the anxiety that spending it?

creates, totally immobilizes them to the extreme of going without basic daily survival needs of a safe living space, food medical care, etc. How does one deal with this? Can anyone relate? How do you deal with it? What are the underlying causes and how to break through?
Answer:
Contact your closest mental health center, there seems to be more going on. Anyway- they will give you the help you need, eg. counseling, groups or seeing a psychiatrist.
I think you have a combination of several mental disorders...and I am not a doctor but have experienced some of what you are saying. It all starts with depression...Talk to a friend and tell them to take you to the doctors. Make yourself do this.
Practise daily, and when necessary, one of the 5 relaxation techniques on page 2 at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris... and try the EFT for at least some weeks, and note the tips at the mental-health-abc %26 conquering stress websites. Also see anxiety on page 6, and when improved, spend some on a good therapist (pages 1 %26 2), and donate some to a charity or worthwhile cause, to improve the lives of others, as yours has been.
i think you have some type of mental disorder, you need to see a psychiatrist. i have been on psyc meds for many years, all my life i have tried to always save money, but not to an extreme like you where i don't buy the basic things i need to live a normal life. maybe you have a fear of being poor or just have low self esteem where you don't think you are worth spending money on. it sounds like you have some bad obcessions that may be helped by counseling and or meds. good luck to you
Are you saying that you're have the anxiety of not being able to sustain your own life, as in, you always fear that you wouldn't be able to stay alive? If yes, I think i have the same problem as you. I always fear that i can die any time. And often, i have panic attacks about this. I can't say that I'm alright now or i know of any cure, but i just wanted you to know that there's someone out there experiencing the same thing as you.
If this makes you feel better.
All the best to us and other people who feels the same way and that we would break out of this disorder.
I wish I knew the story behind this question, because it sounds as though you are really struggling to deal with the realities of your life. It sounds as though things are pressing in on you and you are not sure where to start in any task, and you are fearful of failure.

First, I think some counseling would help you. If you don't have money for a private counselor, try looking in the front pages of your telephone book. Most states have Mental Health Agencies and would help you locate the help you need.

Secondly, I would suggest you take out paper and pen in the mornings and list the things you would like to accomplish that day. Then, as you perform those tasks, whether it is just taking a shower or brushing your teeth, check them off. You'd be surprised how things fall into place when you have a schedule.

Remember you are not alone. Most of us have had our moments of confusion, fearing we cannot measure up to what is expected of us. But hang in there and keep trying. It will be worth it in the long run.
I see that someone mentioned EFT... Great answer, and it works!! Also another great tool is the book or movie the Secret, by Rhonda Byrne. These tools help you get your life back, they have helped me.
Only Jesus can give you life, and He offers to give it freely and abundantly. I recommend finding a good Bible-believing Spirit-filled (full Gospel) church. I have attended Assembly of God and Foursquare churches, but there are many others. Ask Him, and He will lead you.
